Membership in the Women's Giving Circle is obtained by committing to an annual pledge amount for three consecutive years. Your pledge obligation may be paid in a payment structure that you determine (monthly, yearly, etc.) via check, credit card, auto withdrawal from payroll or transmittable stock ownership.
A single payment every year for 3 consecutive years is one of many payment options. While your membership dues are fulfilled after the thrid year and you are a life member, many WGC members continue to contirbute on an annual basis.
The WGC Treasurer is available to set up a monthly or semi-annual payment plan or help create a payment program that works best for each member.
Listed below are the current Membership Levels to chose from based on total pledge amounts:
Pink Diamond - $10,000 or more
Diamond - $5,000 - $9,999
Emerald - $3,001 - $4,999
Sapphire - $3,000
In addition to these membership levels, we encourage all members who have met their pledge obligations to continue giving each year and invite each of their daughters and granddaughters to join WGC for a pledge amount of $500 per year.

Funds collected by the Women's Giving Circle are divided evenly between the pass-through fund and the permanent fund unless the donor specifies some other division. The money collected in the pass-through fund during a fund year, plus a portion of the earnings from the permanent fund, are granted to organizations providing services to women and their dependents during the following fiscal year. More information on this process can be found in our GRANTS section.
The Women's Giving Circle is not affiliated with any political party or specific cause.. All business is conducted without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnic background.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, volunteers, staff and especially the patients of Mission of Mercy, thank you to the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County for its support of Mission of Mercy. The Women’s Giving Circle is a key partner in easing the burden of women and children in our community who are unable to afford needed health care. Your support helps women and their families improve the quality of their lives - by keeping children in school, employees at work and families free from substantial medical debt so that they can pay their bills and remain productive members of their community. The 2007 grant award will assist Mission of Mercy in treating 275 women and children at 850 free patient visits, and provide them with 2,075 free prescriptions and 225 free dental procedures. Thank you so very much for your support."
